Congratulations to our first Champions of Irish Open 2026! The very first to snag a trophy was American Anthony LoBue who beat a 49-entry field in the €120 PLO Deaf Championship to win €1,550. The victory gave him his first-ever cash in Europe. You can read all about it here.

British player Barry Grime – dubbed “Big Baz from Bolton” – took down the €350 Big O Championship last night for €9,070. He beat a 118-entry field featuring a ton of poker heavyweights to seize his first Irish Open trophy. Read all about it here.

David Smith won the €250 Super Seniors Championship for €7,900 after defeating Paul Murnin heads-up. There were 216 entries in the event creating a €45,057 prize pool. Our tournament wrap is available here. Among those who took part were Ireland’s #1 tournament player Andy Black, Irish veteran Padraig Parkinson and EPT founder John Duthie along with British actor Douglas Henshall and Midsommar star Anders Beckman.

It’s time for Sviten!

€1 million guaranteed Mini Irish Open parks Day 1a

While the €1,150 Irish Open Main Event may be the longest-running poker tournament in Europe, the €250 Mini Irish Open is already the largest low buy-in event on the continent and comes with a whopping €1 million prize pool guarantee.

There are 14 starting flights this year and the first played out yesterday with 162 entries. Eight players have now secured their place on Day 2 which is taking place some time in the very distant future (actually Monday, April 6 – the final day of the festival).

Ireland’s Colin Doyle is the current chip leader with a massive 1,580,000 in chips. Day 1b starts at 6pm today with late reg open until around 10pm. Approximately 15% of today’s field will be in the money but they’ll be playing down to 5% of the field. Check here for updates.

Last year’s winner Tyler Gordon took home €116,000 from a €1,343,874 total prize pool; in total there were 6,411 entries in this super-size-me event.

All a Flutter
6pm also sees the start of the special invitational tournament for staff at Flutter – this is always a pretty raucous affair as Flutter staff from all over the world unite at the RDS.  You can expect a lot of noise from whichever corner of the giant main hall at the RDS that this event is taking place in!
