Flip and Go is going to be an absolute game-changer at the 2026 Irish Open! Huge fun, unlimited opportunities to enter – and big payouts expected at the end of it all!

In fact, we’re anticipating such big fields for our debut Flip and Go events that we’ve penned in three of them for next year’s festival.

What is Flip & Go?
The format is simple – Day 1 is all about flips: just pony up your €100 entry to get dealt a blind Omaha hand. Turn ‘em over, win the Flip and you’re through to Day 2, a conventional €1k freezeout starting at noon. The Flip Stage is extremely fast, lasting only a few minutes, and eliminates the standard tournament “grind” to get to the money. The only catch is that you can ONLY compete in the €1k on Day 2 by winning a hand in the Flip stage the day before.

Yes, Day 1 of Flip and Go is all about luck! And it takes place at 9pm when even the most conservative of players is likely to start fancying their odds (for the record, this is one in ten). If you’re a pro, you could look at the event as an easy way to get into a £1k where you’re up against a lot of “fish”! And if you’re a recreational player who would normally baulk at a €1k buy-in, then here’s your chance to get in for only €100!

You can enter as many Flip & Goes as you want and win multiple seats to Day 2; although you must play your first win,  you can sell any additional seats.

Triple Crown winner Niall Farrell – who is known for his occasionally unorthodox approach to playing poker – is already getting excited. He said: “This sounds ideal for me as I really like to minimise the time I spend outside of the Craic Den. Who wants to grind their way into the money when you can get there in a couple of minutes!?”

Farrell also reports that one player in Vegas bought in 47 times in the WSOP’s $1k version of Flip and Go. He added: “That’s not happening to me. Given how lucky I’ve been over the years, I’ll be genuinely astonished if I have to play more than once!
