Under the gun, Stephen Ward opened for 55,000 (blinds are now 10k/25k/25k). It folded all the way round to big blind Kyle Maguire, but there was to be no more folding in the hand: he raised to 175,000. Ward made the call and they saw a 7d Jc 7c flop.
Maguire led out for 250,000, Ward moved in for around a million and Maguire performed a textbook snapcall, showing Ac Ah to Ward’s Qc Qs. In the overpair battle, aces were the victors and Ward exits in 55th while Maguire is now in charge of over 3,500,000 chips.
