I arrived at the Ladies’ Championship just in time to see last year’s ninth place finisher Rachel Heneghan busting out with pocket jacks against Katie Ramsden’s pocket kings.
“Bye babe,” Ramsden called over genially as Heneghan took her leave. “Yeah I don’t really play poker,” she continued in an ongoing conversation with another table mate. As I was lurking behind her trying to count her rather messy stack she looked up at me expectantly. I explained she should just totally ignore me as I was just counting her chips. “Why?” she asked with genuine interest. Sometimes I ask myself the same question.
Ms Ramsdeen appears to be our current chip leader on 55k or so. Everyone in the Ladies’ event looks like they’re having a REALLY good time. Reg is open for another two levels; currently 51/62 players still in. We’ve already beaten last year’s field of 51.
