Today marks a huge day for the Irish Open as the first-ever Day 1 takes place for an international Irish Open. This is a remote Day 1 for the inaugural AU$1,000,000 guaranteed Irish Open Sydney which is running in September.

Today’s €1,150 buy-in tournament begins at 4pm. The Irish Open will be paying 15% of the field and everyone who gets through Day 1 will be in the money and on for the inaugural Main Event Day 2 in Australia. The Irish Open is also adding €1,000 for every winner to go towards flights!

Ten players secured their Day 1 seat in yesterday’s €140 buy-in, 52,000 milestone satellite including 2023 Irish Open Main Event champion David Docherty.

Docherty was one of six British players to qualify; the others were from France, Germany and the Czech Republic.

A further opportunity to satellite your way into the very first international Irish Open is taking place today at noon. The €140 buy-in, 100k milestone satellite starts at noon with five seats guaranteed. If you win a seat, it’s not transferable … it must be played in the Sydney Day 1 which starts at 4pm. Get down under, everyone!!!

Sydney is just the first stop in a series of new Irish Open international destinations. The Irish Open will also be heading to Marrakech in November and the USA next year.  But Sydney is first up with a packed schedule of tournaments at the Poker Palace in September featuring numerous tournaments and a AU$1 million guaranteed Main Event.
