With $800,500 up top – including a ticket into the WPT World Championship, Irish Open regular Jamie Flynn (pictured left above) has achieved a lifetime ambition this week by reaching the final table of the WPT Venetian Las Vegas Championship.
Jamie has cashed multiple times at the Irish Open – including five times this year – but even the very best cash of his life (runner-up in last year’s PokerStars EPT Monte Carlo Mystery Bounty) doesn’t come close to what’s at stake today as he joins the six-handed WPT final table line-up at the Venetian.
Flynn, who founded Doyles poker room in Limerick last year and was also Ireland’s top GPI player for 2024, goes into today’s six-handed final as one of the shorter stacks but is guaranteed at least $169,000. The $5k buy-in tournament attracted 1,153 entries creating a $5,303,800 prize pool.
Last night, Flynn wrote on his JamFly.poker Instagram account: “I used to watch the likes of Gus Hansen, Doyle Brunson, and Daniel Negreanu on WPT final tables on TV when I was a teenager. Time to give it a go myself tomorrow.”
Flynn’s live tournament winnings are already close to $1 million with live poker tournament results going back more than 15 years.
The Venetian has a live stream on YouTube starting at 8pm (Dublin time) so you can follow Flynn’s fortunes right here
