With an extra four days on the schedule, a massive €4,500,000 in prize pool guarantees and DOUBLE the number of last year’s tournaments, this year’s Irish Open is set to take the eagerly-anticipated festival to a whole new level.
Running from April 10 to April 21 at the Royal Dublin Society in Ballsbridge, the 12-day extravaganza will also feature a full roster of live entertainment in the bars and Craic Den Player’s Lounge – ensuring that everyone at this year’s event enjoys a superb time.
The Irish Poker Open is already the longest-running No Limit Texas Hold’em poker tournament in Europe and continuously breaks its own records for the largest – and richest – poker event in Ireland. Last year’s Main Event attracted a staggering 3,233 entries creating a giant prize pool of €3,152,175, way more than double the guarantee and the Mini Irish Open attracted well over 5,000 entries to set a new benchmark as Ireland’s largest ever poker tournament.
This year’s highlights include boosted guarantees for some of the most prestigious tournaments on the schedule along with several new events certain to whet everyone’s appetites.
€2.5 million guaranteed Irish Open Main Event
The €1,150 buy-in Irish Open Main Event returns on April 13 with a €2.5m guaranteed prize pool. There are five starting flights including a Day 1e turbo and players get a 50,000 starting stack. Once again, Irish Open sponsors PokerStars and Paddy Power are offering hundreds of opportunities for players all over the world to qualify in online satellites. See this page for more info.
The Mini Irish Open will see its prize pool guarantee doubled this year to €1,000,000 – a giant sum for a buy-in of just €250. The event gets underway right at the beginning of the festival on April 10. With starting flights running throughout the week – 13 in total – players have plenty of opportunities to get involved whatever their playing schedule looks like. The final takes place on April , the last day of the festival.
The brand new Luxon Pay €500 + €500 + €150 NLH Mystery Bounty tournament is first up at this year’s festival and comes with a mouth-watering €1,000,000 prize pool guarantee. With four start flights, a single re-entry per flight and a 50,000 starting stack, it’s set to attract a huge amount of interest. All three Mystery Bounties held last year had enormous fields including 445 entries for the €550 edition.
Cash games
With a huge new dedicated cash game room featuring over 50 tables running 24/7, last year’s innovations for cash game players proved incredibly popular. The fact that the room has its own dedicated bar also hasn’t escaped anyone’s attention! Players will be able to register for available games simply by using the PS Live App – and all from the comfort of their bar stool or comfy sofa in the Craic Den.
Schedule highlights
A Feast of High Rollers
Nine years ago, when Paul O’Reilly and JP McCann took over the running of the Irish Open, there was nary a High Roller to be seen. This year’s schedule is awash with them. Whether you’re a PLO fan or straightforward Hold’Em type, you’re still going to be spoiled for choice.
The 2025 selection includes a €3k NLH High Roller (Event 61), €5k NLH High Roller (Event 36), a two-day €1,150 Seniors High Roller (Event 52) and the brand new €10k, €500,000 guaranteed Super High Roller (event 45).
There’s also a €5k NLH High Roller Mystery Bounty (Event 24) along with two PLO High Rollers – a €5k PLO High Roller (Event 29) and €5k PLO High Roller Mystery Bounty (Event 13). (Play ‘em all, we say!)
Irish Open Deaf Championships (Event 3)
The Irish Open Deaf Championships also joins this year’s lineup with a €200 entry event running April 10-12. The event is being hosted by Darren Chow, the official Irish Open Deaf Championship Ambassador.
Heads-up Championship (Event 33) – starts Tuesday, April 15
The €350 Irish Open Heads-up Championship is always a sell-out so we’ve doubled the cap this year to 128 entries. Nevertheless, you definitely need to register in advance for this one! The easiest way to secure your seat is buying in via Luxon Pay however if you don’t have a Luxon account, there are numerous other ways to register in advance including via your PokerStars account or via the PS Live app. If none of the works please contact info@Irishopenpoker.com and the team will help you out. The four Round 1s are all on April 15 with the quarter-final and semi-final taking place the following day
€250 Ladies Championship (Event 50) – April 17 -18
The two-day Ladies Championship starts on April 17 and is, once again, set to be a fiercely-contested event. Players who run deep are going to be well and truly in the spotlight as the Irish Open Live Stream is kicking off its entire festival coverage with Day 2 of the Ladies Championship on April 18. It’s the first time in over ten years that the Live Stream has set its sights on anything other than the Main Event.
The €250 “THMC” The Hendon Mob Championship (Event 35) – April 15 & 16
Fans of The Hendon Mob Championship will be thrilled that this year’s tournament has been extended to become a two-day event. Definitely a player favourite thanks to its association with the world-renowned Hendon Mob database, the €250 buy-in The Hendon Mob Championship enjoyed a short-lived record last year as the biggest side event ever held at the Irish Open (until the Mini came along and bumped it from the top spot). Argentina’s Mario Niciforo was the champion after outlasting the monster 599-entry field to win €18,127.
€350 America’s Cup Championship (Event 44) – April 17 & 18
The America’s Cup is another event that has been turned into a two-day tournament after the event was swamped last year with 494 entries. The tournament, originally envisioned as a special treat just for Americans and Canadians, is now one of the most popular fixtures on the Irish Open schedule. This year’s America’s Cup starts on April 17 with the final taking place the following day.
€550 JP Poker Masters Championship (Event 60) – starting April 19
Another event which will be played over two days is the €550 JP Poker Masters. The JP Poker Masters is another fan favourite at the Irish Open with last year’s tournament attracting 566 entries, nearly triple the 2023 field.
