NLH 8-Max Winner Eero Abbey

Eero Abbey is the 2026 NLH 8-Max Champion.

The Finn had to show patience and resilience, as Germany’s Richard Kuch bossed the early stages of the final table.

With five runners left, Kuch had half the chips in play and looked nailed on for the win.

But it was not to be. Kuch did nothing wrong, but the cards refused to fall for him, just when he needed it most. That is not to take anything away from Abbey, who had been there or thereabouts throughout the day.

The two-day event saw 285 entries, and generated a €290,272 prize pool.

There were several famous faces in the field when play began this afternoon: Spraggy; O’Kearney; Simpson; and both Dwyer and O’Dwyer.

But one by one, they fell by the wayside and by the time we got to the final nine, the one big name remaining was Conor O’Driscoll.

Last year’s NLH Turbo Champ, gave a fine account of himself, but was eventually gunned down in 6th place, by Abbey.
