Eriks Krumins

At 6 p.m. local time, the winner will be crowned in the 2025 Irosh Open €350 Irish Open Heads-Up Championship and only two players out of an sold out 128-entry strong field will battle for the biggest share of the €38,688 prize pool while overlooking the vast main tournament at Royal Dublin Society.

The tournament reached the money stages yesterday with the likes of Daniel Wilson, Wouter Beltz, James Turner and Istvan Szakacs earning the min-cash of €1,000. Only 16 players returned today and another two rounds of heads-up matches paved the way to the final.

Heads-Up Championship Quarterfinals Results:

  • Isaac Barker defeated Jonas Witdoek
  • Alexandru Ersen-Baciu defeated Tomas Flanagan
  • Cameron Dhaliwal defeated Sachin Joshi
  • Eriks Krumins defeated Steinn Karlsson

Eriks Krumins was the last player to punch his ticket for the semifinals earlier today after overcoming Steinn Karlsson in a topsy-turvy affair that spanned nearly two and a half hours. His next duel with Isaac Barker, who won his previous round in little more than a full level, lasted much shorter and the Latvian was the first to advance.

One year ago, Alexandru Ersen-Baciu bowed out in the semifinal stage and suffered the same fate once more when the self-acclaimed “very lucky player” was knocked out by Cameron Dhaliwal. Both players had a swingy three levels with many three-bet and several four-bet pots. Dhaliwal landed the sucker punch when his ace-five got there against ace-jack.

Krumins and Dhaliwal get to enjoy a break prior to the final round, which is set to kick off at 6 p.m. local time. Having accumulated 1.6 million in chips along the way, the final duel starts very deep with blinds of 10,000-20,000 and the following cash prizes are still up for grabs:

  • 1st – €10,000
  • 2nd – €5,888
