More trophies will be awarded today at the 2025 Irish Open, including the €1,150 8-Max one. Silverware is still up for grabs for anyone who enters the tournament, with late registration open until Day 2 kicks off at noon.

So far, the event drew 370 entrants, of whom 159 players found bags. Those who join them at the buzzer will receive 50,000 in chips, just under 17 bigs when play continues (at 1,500/3,000).

Naturally, starting stack won’t get you in the top half of the leaderboard. But it’s still a decent challenge to come at noon and challenge others.

Especially considering the big prize money involved. Hundreds of thousands of euros will be paid out; the payout structure is coming up in the next hour or so when all numbers are finalized.

We don’t know who decides to join the 8-Max today just yet, but what we do know is that the like so Jose Castro, Theodoros Ampelikiotis, and Fintan Hand will be back after a successful Day 1 run.

Last year’s Irish Open Main Event champ Tero Laurila is also in the mix, currently maneuvering the 19th-biggest stack. Not far behind is UK poker legend Barny Boatman, who notched his first Irish Open cash 25 years ago.

There are plenty of other familiar faces to follow in this event, too. Come back here at 3 p.m. for regular live updates from the felt. In the meantime, check this space for the prize pool information.
