So with the swift elimination of his sole remaining opponent out of a starting field of 211, Anthony Whorriskey becomes the 2023 Seniors Champion, winning €10,530. He was one of the chip leaders at the very first break, came to the nine-handed final with more than double the chips in the next highest stack, and stayed in the lead throughout it.
Whorriskey runs his own pub poker game, which he was probably meant to be playing in tonight, but playing a tournament for 12 hours and coming back five figures richer is a good excuse for swerving it.
