With late registration open until the end of Level 8, America’s Cup has already reached 500 entries, with 393 players remaining. That’s a huge bump in numbers since last year’s event, which attracted 191 players.
The main difference this year? You don’t have to be American, or Canadian, or a distant relative of an American to play. Anyone can enter. And it shows.
This might be a tribute to our US brothers and sisters who made the trip, but a look at Table 1 shows just how international America’s Cup has become. There’s only one player on that table representing the USA, along with players from Wales, Ireland, England, Italy and Estonia.
Live coverage of the event will now begin.
