The historic 2024 Irish Poker Open €1,150 Main Event is down to just seven hopefuls, each locking up a €64,960 prize after local hero Adrian Thorne hit the rail in eighth place for €49,960.
According to Frank Visser, who is on the scene reporting for PokerNews, Thorne three-bet jammed the button for 18 big blinds with ace-five suited. Georgios Tsouloftas, who opened the cutoff with a min-raise, found the call with big slick. Thorne connected with his five on the flop, but was far behind with Tsouloftas also improving after connecting with his king.
Bricks came on both the turn and river and another round of applause erupted in the poker room honoring Adrian Thorne’s impressive run.
