A big pot went to Chris Dowling recently, bumping his stack up around the 70,000 mark. Caught from his shove for 20,300 on the river of a board standing Jh 8c Qd Ts Qh, he’d put opponent Ben Winsor to the test for a pot of over 40,000. Winsor, with a similar amount of chips remaining, thought for a while before folding his hand.
A couple of tables over, Damian Quinlivan opened preflop, picked up a late position caller and then found big blind Jason O’Sullivan raising to 3,400. Back to neighbour Quinlivan, who moved all in for over 30,000, putting O’Sullivan to the test for his stack. O’Sullivan folded, showing pocket tens.
