As advertised, the second week of the 2025 Irish Open festival promises a spectacular atmosphere at the Royal Dublin Society with hundreds of players in action.
The €1,150 8-Max event has already attracted 370 runners and late reg is still open for anyone who wants to join the contest tomorrow!
It will eventually be a massive ROI for the winner — for just a two-day job as the tournament features a fast-paced structure, played with half-hour levels.
Day 1 saw Jose Castro (351,000), Theodoros Ampelikiotis (309,500), and Fintan Hand (299,500) capitalize on their skill and rungood as they positioned themselves as the frontrunners heading into the final day.
It can still be anyone’s game, though, as the road to the pedestal currently includes 159 contenders who bagged advancing stacks tonight.
Among those are some accomplished poker heroes such as Barny Boatman, Brian Altman, Marle Spragg, Leo Worthington-Leese, Kimmo Kurko, Giuliano Bendinelli, Conor Beresford, and Derk van Luijk, among others.
Click the “Players” tab above to see full chip counts from the 8-Max, and come back here at 3 p.m. to follow the live updates until a champion emerges. The numbers will be finalized shortly after Day 2 kicks off.
